The Coevolution of Networks and Political Attitudes

The Coevolution of Networks and Political Attitudes

Authors:  David Lazer, Brian Rubineau, Carol Chetkovich, Nancy Katz, Michael Neblo Working Paper

Project Description: The authors find significant conformity tendencies in which individuals shift their political views toward those of their associates. This conformity is driven more by social ties than by task-related ties. They also find that political views are relatively unimportant in the formation of relationships compared with demographic and institutional factors.
