IDEA Director Michael Neblo Featured at Civil Discourse Forum: Is Democracy for Everyone?

Michael will join UCLA’s Dr. Khaled Abou el Fadl for the upcoming Civil Discourse Forum: Is Democracy for Everyone? on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Thompson Library 165. 

Michael's research focuses on deliberative democracy and political psychology. His recent book, Politics with the People: Building a Directly Representative Democracy (2018), co-authored with Kevin Esterling and David Lazer, explores new ways to connect citizens and elected officials, thereby strengthening representative government. He has also testified before Congress on these findings and continues to advance dialogue between scholars, policymakers, and the public through IDEA’s innovative programs.
